A moment is short......but Criss Angels legacy of magical arts will be eternal.
Hmmm....a little about me eh. Well lets see here. First of all, I will say I am visually impaired. Yes visually impaired. My best friend is on here as well she goes by the alias of Artemis_Darkangel. Her and I have been the best of friends since we were in high school. We grew up being musicans and writers together. She always has my back. I am a guitarist in our little time band we like to call Gemini. I also live in Montana (yes the open sky state). Its an okay place to live if you like country music, rodeos, and knowing almost every person in a town. I love music and playing it. Being in a band is one of my greatest passions. I can't go anywhere and not find or do something musical. I with my best friend will get ourselves purposely lost in a music store and just vibe to music that we like and look and almost drool over the instruments if the store has them. I own five guitars as is. And I love and cherish each and everyone of them. I love them so much that I even name them. That is how compassion fill I am to my art. My belief is that an instrument is just as much of an entity as a person, with a personality of its own. That is how much time I have spent with each of my guitars. Other than having my musical side, I also write stories. Mainly fantasy, but I do write other stuff. Fantasy and Sci Fi have always been my biggest influences. I just love being able to step beyond what I know as reality and pull idea's out that would seem crazy or nonsensical at first. Then I write them down. When I write I want my readers to think. To expand there horizons. Kind of like the way Criss Angel blows peoples minds. I guess you could say I like to write concepts that could concevably blow peoples minds as well. Thats just the way I am. Actually there will be times when I have gone without a day or twos sleep and I will think of ideas that later would make me even say WTF. And I would ask myself how I ever thought of them. Though for some odd and bizzar reason they still would somehow make weird sense to me.
Outside of my main life, I love to hang with friends, party, drive people nuts (I a good way that is), travel, and do much more. Most of my life however circumfances just doing what I love to do passionately. I also like to rp (role play) a lot. Offline and Online. I actually have a few rp sites of my own that I run that are message board based. And I love doing all of them. My friends even play on them and they too have vision problems such as I.
Most people would be to afraid to approach a blind person because they would be afraid that they would offend them. Well that is not how all of us are. Most of us actually are very friendly and open minded to people who don't understand us. We are always willing to disban false beliefs and folklore about how blind people are. We are also always willing to talk to someone about what are sight problems are so people can come to understand what that type of blindness is. Some say that being blind is a disability. I however would beg to differ. I believe that being blind keeps us from being distracted by the outside world and to focus open mindedly on other tasks. Also it leaves us to our own imaginations as to what something looks like or feels like. I find it a blessing. It can be hard sometimes though in a fast paced world such as we have today, I will say that much. But somehow through much teamwork, strength, courage, unity, virtue, and the full hearted ability to believe, somehow we always make it through. Even when we are way down so far at the bottom of the totem poll in sociaty, we somehow always seem to pull through. Sometimes the road for us is hard, and getting where we want to is difficult as well, but our buddy system (our community) of blind people, is what keeps us believing. You could kinda say we blind are Loyals to eachother. Thats the way we work. So if you are reading this, the next time you pass a blind person, please do say hello. They may actually thank you for it. I know that I would.
Unfortunately the biggest downside to being blind is transportation. I've been there done that, especially with gigs with the band. It is so hard to get rides anywhere. Sure there is our bus systems and taxi's, but what if you don't have the money for those. It makes you kinda SOL when it comes to going anywhere. Also sure some cities are better about it than others. But what if you are at a late time appointment and there is no getting out of it. What do you do when the buses stop, you have no money, can't go to the bank to get any, have no way to get to a phone, have no friends period or friends with a car, and its getting severly dark outside. My answer would be....dahtadah....WALK! Yes sir re bob, walk. Even if it gets dark. Its the only option people who are blind have. They can't drive, that would be just too dangerous, unless there like Criss Angel. The blind don't have the ability to teleport, but it would be nice to be able to. It would make it safer and easier to get home at night, and quicker might I add. I have had to walk a many of a night home after getting minor groceries, and believe me it is severly creepy we done alone. I hate it. And it makes me sad when people drive by in there nice toasty warm cars and don't ask if I may need a ride. Instead they drive right on by. I mean I understand that I would definately be a stranger, that I do get. Its just one of the sad things in life still. And its even more wounding when people drive by, knowing that I never ever will. Never will I drive behind the wheel of my own vehicle. Never will I get to understand that feeling. It was one of my biggest pet peeves as a high schooler when I had to constantly listen to all the other kids talk about how they get to go to drivers ed. I never wanted to hear it for it was always painful. And atop that I was the ONLY blind student at the school. Driving has been every blind persons passion. Yet we never get to know or understand it. But on a lighter note I am severly hoping that someday they will come out with something that can fix blindness to those who already have it. That would be nice.
And speaking of school, yes all the way through jr. high to high school, I was alone. The only blind person mainstreamed fully at the schools that I went to. And oh did they have a work load! i was the one student that could always seem to bend the boundrieds of what a blind/ visually impaired person was capable of. They tried to say when I was in grade school while I still lived in Washington that I couldn't do gymnastics, when I actually had in pervious years, so I was never allowed to do the grade school gymnastics team. In jr. high I actually was told I couldn't do basket ball....WRONGO!...I did it and with passion. In high school they told me it wasn't possible for me to do plays that well. Boy did I show them! I did many art things in highs chool. Including drama, chior, videography, stage craft design, photography, and much more. In stage design I would go into areas most sighted wouldn't because of being able to see the ground, Like for instance i would climb up on what we'd call the cages that kept many of our supplies, so I could get a roll of colored paper for a group. Yes the teacher actually allowed me to do this. Weird I know. But through out the years of school I blew so many teacher minds that they couldn't believe that a visually impaired student such as myself could get through it all, and on my own two feet at that. My ferouciousness to get a job done was always my main goal. Actually a lot of teachers thought of me as stubborn, but that was because I was. I never could stay in a simple boxed boundry they would set on me. And that usually made them frustrated. Fortunately they finally understood why I was the way I was and were very proud of me at the end of my schooling years. if I wasn't the way I was somewhat i wouldn't be who I am today.
Thoughts on Criss Angel.........
These are just some thoughts I that I have on what I think of Criss Angel. I just wanted to write it down.
Well my thoughts on Criss are that he is a very influential man. And that his performances are awesome. I have never seem a magician so talanted and dedicated in my entire life, and I have seen many magicians. No joke I full heartedly think that he is the best in the world. And thats even just beyond being a Loyal. I do believe that the man has change many lives and has touched many lives as well. I believe that he is a becon of light to all, and his luxor levitation trick proved it. Yes an irony I know. But its true. I bet that there are many adults and children out there that wish they could do some of the more safer yet bizzar tricks that he can do. I know that I would love to learn a few....unfortunately I don't have the money to be a ultimate loyal yet. But I would so love to be one. The first trick that I ever saw of his was the coin one. My friend and I watched it together and that was the eppie that hooked us for the rest of ever. One of my many wishes is to be able to meet the man someday, not just cause he is a celeb magician, but also because he did one trick that changed my life forever. The driving blind trick. I almost cried over the fact that HE did a trick that he was blinded for. That was the BIGGEST inspiration to me. My saddest feeling is that my friend and I will never be able to meet him at all because of the lack of funds to do such. And no one really visits montana much. And if they do its to the out lying cities such as Billings or Missoula or other. Not Great Falls. And it costs so much to become and ultimate loyal that the dreams of becoming one is very hard. I know it sounds like a sop story, but that is how I really feel. I know I haven't been an online free loyal long, but in my heart as I've watched his show I felt that I already was one. That I didn't need to be a part of something like this to be ultimately loyal. If I could I would be at every one of his performances, if I could that is. Criss makes ones wildest dreams seem possible and real. I even have listened to his music so much that I hade to switch it over to an MP3. That is how well used the cd has been. His music has even inspired story writing. Which to me is very powerful. Words can meen much. I just know that whatever Criss Angel does, well in spirit I will be there and I will watch him on tv when it comes on. And whether I am not a paying Ultimate Loyal I am at least a Ultimate Loyal in spirit. I may not be able to get all the fancy privalages of an Ultimate Loyal, but watching Criss Angel on tv right now, until I can become a paying one, is fine enogh for me. It really would be nice though to be a paying one and possibly have the chance to meet him, but thats right now is where I will just keep dreaming. Yes dreaming......
